Alan Turing was recruited to NPL London to create an electronic computer, which became the first electronic stored-program all-purpose digital computer. Turing is known to the CS community as the founding father of AI. During WWII, Turing decoded messages from the Germans to which helped Great Britain win the war.

Marc Hannah co-founded Silicon Graphics, Inc. This brought 3d graphics from computers to screens. He was a pioneer for 3d computer graphics and he worked on 3d animation in movies such as Jurassic Park and "Terminator". His work with computer graphics paved the path for future computer scienctist working on 3d graphics.
